Hi, I live in a very old house (almost 600years) and the walls and floors just aren’t straight, they have gotten worse over the years. I have bought all new doors to be fitted downstairs in my home and have had a carpenter out to fit them. The problem is they meet the door frame at the top, but at the bottom there is a good 1.5inch gap between the door at the door frame. I have no idea about carpentry however am rather disappointed with the doors, they just don’t look right. I have asked the carpenter how he can fix them and hes told me that all he can do is move the arcitraving, which will mean that it will be at an angle to fit the door. To be honest he has been here a few days and I am not very happy with a few of the other jobs he has done and so would like some other advice on the doors. The doors were not cheap and I will be very disappointed if the finished product is what I see today.
