Two women had the scare of their lives Wednesday night when masked men held them at gunpoint in their home. KMBC’s Dan Weinbaum sat down with one of the victims. Ashley Robinson said she and her cousin were hanging out at home when they heard shouts of, “Police,” and their front door was bashed in. “Two men came through, kicked down the door saying, ‘Police, police, police at the door,’” Robinson said. “I was trying to figure out why the police was kicking in my door.” She said men with guns burst in, but they weren’t police officers — they were robbers. The masked men held Robinson and her cousin at gunpoint. “They were looking for drugs and money and said, ‘Aw, we got the wrong house,’” Robinson said. “They would never find anything like that here, so that’s out of the question,” homeowner Norman Handley said. Robinson said the robbers had it totally wrong. There aren’t any drugs in the house and she said she doesn’t live what she called the “street life.” “Very scary. I don’t live that type of lifestyle,” Robinson said. The robbers did steal a laptop computer and a Wii video game system. Police lifted fingerprints off the door. The incident is under investigation.
